Bonjour friends! Well,one of my favorite designers, Coco Chanel quoted “I don’t do fashion, I am fashion this inspires me everyday when I am dressing up and drawing my design sketches.
The Kikoi fabric has been one of the most handy cloth in Africa, a fashion statement and of course a traditional wear for some communities like the Maasai. Designers worldwide have been able to display striking designs on the runaways that have made us hunt for tailors to design similar clothing. It’s been hot over the past one month and for me to look ravishing in this scorching season I was able to design and style;
1.A one shoulder dress with a slit. Such an out-fit you can rock it in an outdoor event like Blankets and Wine, The Koroga festival, weddings and many more creative events . My major goal for this design was to look distinctive,cultured and leave a fashion legacy.
2.A simple maxi skirt that I paired with a black vest and white sheer meshed top. I find this look simple and edgy. It could be perfect for meeting your fiance’s parents,going to church or a lunch out with the ladies. If you own a kikoi, don’t just use it to cover yourself up when watching movies,be creative to make a cloth out of it and hit the streets and leave everyone staring.
