Fashion Mobster Fans: Hi Shanniq, it’s us. Mobster Fans. We miss your fashion recipes. When should we expect a blog post?…
Shanniq: Drum Rolls…
Hey guys. First of all, for those who have been wondering, where I have been, here I am. I have been in the kitchen cooking up recipes and building up my fashion look book, especially for the current season that I am in. Either way, I trust you have been keeping calm, cool and enjoying the quarantine period. I know that such times are quite uncertain. I am here to remind you, that you’re not alone. We’re together in this mini lockdown/quarantine period, and we will get through this, together.
Well, I believe that from my latest Instagram posts and the entry quoted above there, you can join the dots?
Well, I am pregnant. For those wondering whether I stage managed my baby bump for the shoot, I’m here to silence your doubts and wipe out your uncertainties, because my baby bump is actually REAL.
I am honestly excited for this new journey and I can’t wait to share tongue dropping fashion tips on how you should slay in your baby bump.
Well, you may not be pregnant, but this will be incredible because, it’s my hope that during your time, you will need fashion tips, to rock your baby bump.
Last month as I was doing shopping at one of my favourite fashion stores, I overheard another pregnant lady asking the boutique attendant to select outfits for her. The lady went ahead to request the attendant that they should select for her baggy and oversized clothes that would hide her figure.
At that time, I was in the changing room, fitting the clothes that I had selected.
Once I left the changing room, I went to the mirror to admire my thick self. All the curves and edges. I, later on, bumped into the lady that had requested for the baggy outfits and I was just wishing I could hold her cheeks and tell her, “you are beautiful with the bump, don’t hide it, simply embrace it and enjoy this new journey!”
I can honestly relate to why some women don’t love their baby bumps. Baby bumps can bring about insecurities because of all the body changes that happen. One worrying fact to many women is the weight they add when they are pregnant.
However, I am here to tell you no matter the weight gain and how chubby your checks seem, you are beautiful, just the way you are. Pregnancy is an amazing experience. It’s liberating and eye-opening. The very thought of being someone’s mother is scary but most times, it is exciting.
For the next few months, I will be sharing some fashion tips. I want to welcome you all on this Baby bump series as I will be unleashing looks that you can wear with your baby and still be eye candy.
For my first baby bump look, I opted to rock a little black dress. The Little Black Dress is one trend that has never gone out of style.
I rocked a little black dress which is always stylish and accommodates any body shape. When styling my LBD, I simply opted to do minimal accessories and hairdo because my LBD has too much going on. Including the polka-dotted sheer sleeves, which gives the dress an elegant vibe.
To make my LBD pop I paired it with fur strappy heels that complimented the whole look! I was so ready to go for a night date!
The Little Black Dress is best for night outs, dinner dates and outdoor events.
In my case, my little black dress look is best for going on a dinner date with my manzzzz. I mean you have to look hot and flaunt that bump as you step out with your man. Watajua aje? Hehe
Stay tuned to this series of the baby bump looks for more fashion ideas on how to slay with your baby bump. I have great outfit ideas lined up for you all.
